NEAG Introductory Talk – Newcastle

Due to the interest in this event, and the fact that star and shadow is going to be busy on the Saturday with the Social Center Gathering, we might be elsewhere on the day. Don’t worry though! We will still be in / around star and shadow. You might find us in the park just opposite, but we’ll have a sign up on the day explaining exactly where you can find us!
If you have the time once the talk is done, you can head over to the Social Center Gathering for a day of radical activities!

A public get-together will be held at Star and Shadow on the 4th of May, at 2pm.
We’ll introduce the North East Anarchist Group, what we are all about, why we formed and what we want to achieve. We’ll also discuss Anarchism, going over briefly what it is, why we think it’s great and how we can look to apply it to the world around us.
The talk / Meeting will only be short and we’ll open it up so everyone can ask any questions as well as have a general chit-chat to discuss the world, politics, work, whatever, and how it affects us as members of the working class.
We will also be giving some details on reading material for our first reading group, where we’ll read through some classic Anarchist texts and discuss them!
This is, of course, a free and inclusive talk, so whether you know all about Anarchism or are a complete newcomer, we’d love it if you came along and if you like what you hear, maybe consider joining us and helping us try and create a movement to organise, educate and agitate, here in the North East.
Star and Shadow is also holding a social centers event at the same time, so expect it to busy, we should be somewhere around in the cafe. If you’re free in the evening there is a party being held at star and shadow, so why not come along to that also and have a party with us?
